International Print Center New York - Never Ending Print

I had a print selected for an exhibition in New York at the International Print Center. The exhibition begins January 15 and runs to March 14, 2015. The opening reception is January 22, 2015 6:00-8:00

34 prints were selected from the 2000 applications they received for the exhibition. I am super excited to be part of something like this.

The print in the exhibition is unique as it is a sculptural linocut.

We Are All Linked - Broken Links

This beautiful email came into my inbox today.  I say many times that if my artwork touches only one person it is worth it. The series "We Are All Linked" is definetely worth it. Thanks to Darcy for sharing. It is sad to see some of the hexagons on the ground but at the same time it helps to make the statement I was after with this series.  http://moniqueart.com/linkedcolonycollapse/linkedcolonycollapse.html

Printing Tree Stumps

I had so much fun today inking and printing tree stumps. I used a smooth rock to transfer the print from the tree stump to the paper. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I am doing some more. Other than it being like swimming two kilometers it was super great. I even had to switch hands part way through and rub the stump with my left hand. My son did some too. It was super exhausting. The stumps are much larger than they first appear.

Lost in the Frost

The hexagons looked very beautiful today because they were covered in frost and by the time we had finished our walk the sun was out and the look of them changed again. The exhibition "We Are All Linked" continues on the Meewasin Valley Trail, Saskatoon until March 22.

Hexagons at Night and Death by Hexagons

The installation of "We Are All Linked" is done!!! It was tough slugging the last day but we made it. I was sent this beautiful photo taken by Jannik Plaetner a local photographer, that happened to be out at night and saw my hexagons.

The exhibition "We Are All Linked" continues on the Meewasin Valley Trail, Saskatoon until March 22.

Even though temperatures hovered around -32 degrees I had some friends come out to help me hang the last clusters. However, Janet succumbed to the temperature, the trugding through deep snow and the pulling of an overloaded tobaggan, filled with hexagons, this is what death by hexagon looks like. Just in case you ever wondered what that might look like.

Here are the rest of the images from our last day.
